Merge tiles on a hexagonal board — six directions of chaos.

Hex 2048 puts the classic merge puzzle on a hexagonal board with six directions of movement. The extra directions change everything: more options, denser boards, and a completely new kind of strategy. Perfect for players who have mastered the square version.

How to play Hex 2048

The classic merge puzzle on a hex grid: move in six directions, merge hex tiles, reach 2048. A whole new dimension of strategy.

Hex 2048 strategy

Control the hexagon, not a corner

On a hex board there is no single corner to lock onto — every cell has six neighbors. The most stable strategy is to park your biggest tile on an edge and guard the cells around it, moving mostly along two or three axes (for example E + SE + SW).

The hex board fills fast: 10 cells, six directions, and merges come quickly. Learn to read the whole board, not just the direction you’re pushing.

Move with the flow

Hex tiles slide one step at a time, and every sweep can cascade. Use the outer ring to stage tiles and feed them inward toward your big tile. Avoid random direction changes — on a hex board they cost you twice as much space.
